Cebas>FinalRender Stage2 C4d
for Cinema 4d 9.1 or higher
The Ultimate "External" Power Source
Even though finalRender Stage-2 is a true platform independent rendering system - careful attention went into a tight integration for CINEMA 4D 9.1 finalRender Stage-2 respects the unique features and specialties of CINEMA 4D. Such things as CINEMA's native shaders and textures as well as the different light types and light exclude options are fully supported by finalRender Stage-2 for CINEMA.
As shown in the illustration below, finalRender Stage-2 for CINEMA is fully integrated into CINEMA 4D. And in contrast to other rendering options available for CINEMA 4D finalRender Stage-2 is one of the best integrated rendering systems for CINEMA 4D.
Thanks to the long term relation ship between MAXON and cebas, the CINEMA 4D user can be assured that finalRender Stage-2 will perform exactly like an integrated part of CINEMA 4D. cebas' expertise in writing core components for CINEMA 4D helped a lot in making sure that the learning curve isn't that steep and the method of integration follows standard CINEMA 4D look and feel guidelines. Nearly every aspect of the renderer can be adjusted naturally by already known tags and tools offered from within CINEMA 4D.

How does it work from within CINEMA 4D?
finalRender Stage-2 for CINEMA is based on the exact same core as finalRender Stage-2 for Maya, in fact a production house using both products (Maya and CINEMA) can interchange the renderer as they wish. Even most of the render settings (approx. 98%) are exactly the same and can be easily transferred and reused between both products.
As a standalone rendering system, finalRender Stage-2 needs to be externally driven by the main modeling application (CINEMA or Maya). The software part driving the rendering core is called a "Translator". Every modeling application needs its own translator plug-in to control the rendering core of finalRender Stage-2. Besides "translating" the scene data along with material settings and light setup, the translator also needs to take care about all file I/O communication and network rendering.
Every package of finalRender Stage-2 for CINEMA 4D comes with a translator plug-in that controls the rendering core. A tight integration into CINEMA 4D makes sure that nearly every scene setting and material along with proper illumination is passed on to finalRender Stage-2.
In contrast to other rendering options for CINEMA 4D finalRender Stage-2 does not use files or any other means of time consuming data transfer between CINEMA 4D and the rendering core. Highly optimized direct calls to the rendering core allow for ultra fast scene translation times. The user will not see or feel any difference when calling the standard CINEMA renderer or finalRender Stage-2. The only difference the user will see is the increased image quality and render time when using finalRender Stage-2.

CINEMA 4D render time: 50 seconds fR Stage-2 render time: 20 seconds
The rendering to the left was done with the standard CINEMA 4D renderer, the same scene rendered with finalRender Stage-2 can be found to the right. No changes have been made to the materials or light settings between those two renderings.

CINEMA 4D Will Never Be The Same Again!
... meet the revolutionary new face of the Material Editor

CINEMA 4D Shader Tree
Have you ever thought of what you could do if CINEMA 4D only had a real advanced material system?
Don't worry, the wait is over!
Way before anyone else would think about this essential feature cebas is offering it already. The implementation of finalRender Stage-2 alone, would have been enough progress for any other company - but not for cebas. By redesigning the complete CINEMA 4D material system, cebas has stretched the borders way beyond of anything a CINEMA 4D user could have dreamed of. In fact, the new finalRender Shader Tree system can't be compared to anything known to a CINEMA 4D user so far.
What is a shader-tree? Why is it that good?
Not many rendering systems are able to offer a real shader-tree system and if they offer such a thing they are not affordable. This is why such "toys" have always been the prerogative of the big studios.
The "old" way of creating materials (like it is implemented in CINEMA 4D right now) knows only one entity - the material or texture. Everything is "fixed" and can not be freely extended. On the other hand a shader-tree system gives all the power to the user without any restrictions! With a shader-tree support the user becomes a material programmer without learning any complex programming language. Shaders are programmed by drawing connections between inputs and outputs of shading nodes. With the unlimited power of connecting every output with any input of a shading node an endless set of materials can be created.

Rendering and Integration tests
The rendering shown below represents one of many integration tests done so far. The render time was 14 seconds in 640x480 (note, it is scaled to the webpage dimension of 600x450). No direct light source was used, only Skylight and GI and multiple GI bounces have been used. The extra illumination comes from simple materials using a high Self-Illumination level.

14 second rendering (old Dual 2GHZ PC)
As you can see below things can be very different for the exact same scene and setup when a MLT or Path Tracing approach are used.
Because of the extreme Bi Directional Path Tracing hype or MLT rendering hype we did a rendering comparison between our current method and a path tracing implementation.
The image shown below was stopped after waiting one hour for a result. Compared to the physically accurate Global Illumination method found in finalRender Stage-2 it seems that path tracing or MLT is not a real alternative to render an image in a production environemnt that needs to have a high frame output per week.

Unlimited Power - Affordable Pricing
finalRender Stage-2 for CINEMA 4D represents the latest in raytracing and rendering technology. It is a flexible and programmable raytracing system that can be easily integrated into a workflow of smaller or even bigger studios.
Large production houses will love the flexibility and the ease of transferring already made shaders and materials to the highly optimized finalRender Stage-2 rendering system. Besides this, finalRender Stage-2 is a platform independent rendering solution that will work perfectly in a mixed environment where Maya® and CINEMA 4D is used. Only one rendering system for both platforms will be needed! finalRender Stage-2 will render the exact same output from Maya or CINEMA 4D. 95% of the render settings are identical and can be easily re-used or transferred.
Future versions will also support Apple's OSX operating system and it will even widen the "mixed" system environment approach of finalRender Stage-2. In fact this makes finalRender Stage-2 one of the most affordable rendering solutions of all times!
